Natalie Ypma

Is a multi disciplined artist and designer from 's-Hertogenbosch.
She began her artistic journey at the Academy of Fine Arts in the city of Maastricht, where she successfully graduated in 1998.
Natalie describes herself as a wandering spirit; She had studio's in Maastricht, 's-Hertogenbosch, Rotterdam and the inspiring, urban playground Strijp S Eindhoven. For Natalie, changing her (creative) surroundings, nourishes growth, both mentally and artistically.

Being an artist who's totally lead by intuition, makes Natalie's style undefinable, yet very recognizable.. Within her work she often uses a very peculiar symbolism, mostly inspired by her Indonesian roots. Additionally, most of the human appearances in her work are inspired by herself, and the people close to her.

Natalie likes to create an awkward atmosphere: The strange, often erotic scenes immediately make you feel like a 'voyeur.'Tempted by curiosity, you'll be discovering small details everywhere you look.
This will automatically make you wonder about the story behind the work.

Although painting is Natalie's greatest passion, she also embraces graphic design.
Nowadays she, even more frequently,  experiments with photography and fashion:

For her brand CC-Junkie she's uplifting vintage clothes by painting customized designs on them.

Her believe is to continuously reinvent her style, improve her skills and to never do the same thing twice. Therefore she sees collaborations as the ultimate fuel.

During her career her open spirit and artistic versatileness, have created the opportunity to do interesting projects with multidisciplinary artists and performers.
